Nope's Peak r2 - DATE 1 with Joker

[Well they never did get a hangout night at the last game, so.

Rin is standing outside of the playplace, eyeing it. He's already slipped off his shoes and set his sword aside, but he's waiting for Akira before he dives in.]

You know, this feels more like just goofing off than a real date.

[Dang, he is.

Rin just watches Akira stretch for a bit, but he's getting bored of this fast. So he stands up, stretches a little, and then-]

Time for an extra challenge!

[-books it into the playplace itself.]

[WHOA, HEY--]

Rin!

[damn it his plan of baiting Rin into moving first didn't work!! with a scoff, he finally leaps out of the ball pit, pivoting on the ground in one smooth motion to launch himself at the nearest rope ladder. he swings gracefully from said rope ladder and flips himself up on top of one of the plastic tube-like things!! where he lands in a neat crouch. ALSO THAT IS NOT HOW ONE IS SUPPOSED TO UTILIZE A PLAYPLACE, AKIRA PLZ]

[Well it did kind of work? He definitely baited Rin into moving. Just not in the right direction.

Go ahead and be up on top of the playplace, Akira. Rin is still scampering through the tunnels. Akira might even be able to see a dark spot wherever he is in the tunnels depending on how well-lit the area is. Though Rin's snickering is traceable too.]

[purrtagonist]

[yeah, he's definitely using that shadow, and also the sound of Rin's laughter, to track him through the tunnel. if only so he can scamper across the top and then drop down into the entrance RIGHT BEFORE RIN GETS THERE, to cut him off]

[That can definitely happen! Especially since Rin is about to get to the part where the tunnels open up into one of those multi-level platforms used to climb up and down between tunnels.]

[purrtagonist]

[PERFECT]

[drops down on the platform right before Rin gets there, and launches himself into the tunnel to TACKLE HIM AROUND THE WAIST]

[FUCK

Back he goes, into the tunnel, tackled by Akira.]

You shit!

[And he's trying to scramble out of Akira's grasp now. He's not yet using his strength to just pry Akira off, he's trying for more of a slippery approach.]

[purrtagonist]

[does this even count as fighting, this is just stupid boys being stupid boys]

[but he isn't letting go, although like. . . keeping a hold of Rin in this tightly enclosed space is actually kind of hard. . .]

Stop moving, what are you, a fish. . .?!

[Who would have thought that a narrow tunnel would make it difficult to do anything!

By the way that particular tunnel is also a slide right into the ball pit, so. The more Rin wiggles away from Akira, the closer the two of them get to going down that slide and back into the ball pit.]

It's not a battle if I just give up!

[DANGER, DANGER!!]

D-- does this even count as a battle?!

[okay, here are some hard truths: Akira's a damn good fighter, but he's a rogue. pure, raw strength isn't his forte-- speed, dexterity, and cunning are. plus? he actually isn't used to roughhousing like this, so the more Rin squirms, the looser his grip becomes]

[just don't knee and/or elbow him in the face, Rin]

[Actually, as Rin starts to figure all of that out, a devious grin spreads across his face.

Instead of pulling away entirely, he's going to try flipping them and pinning Akira. What Rin lacks in finesse he makes up for in raw strength, so overpowering someone is what he does best at.]

This is totally a battle! And I'm winning~

[purrtagonist]

You are-- ack!

[yeah it's. pretty easy to flip and pin him once Rin gets the idea to do so. BUT THEY'RE STILL INCHING TOWARDS THE SLIDE DURING THEIR STRUGGLE. . . careful, if Rin moves them the wrong way, they'll go pitching down it sooner rather than later]

[Rin is absolutely going to pitch them the wrong way. Because he's about strength not strategy.

Down the slide they gooooo

Also as soon as they start sliding Rin is going to grab on to Akira for dear life as they slide to their doom into the ball pit. His tail will even wrap around one of Akira's legs or something, for extra grip.]

[purrtagonist]

[WELP, TIME TO CLING BACK TO RIN FOR DEAR LIVE AS THEY GO. ZOOM]

[they are totally landing in the ball pit with a loud whumpf, kicking up balls everywhere when they land]

[Rin will stay like that for a moment, hanging onto Akira and trying to process what just happened.

Then he lets go and sits up.]

That was AWESOME! Let's try it on that slide with the rolly-bars!

[purrtagonist]

[SO MUCH FOR SPARRING]

[but Akira sits up when Rin lets go, smoothing out his now ruffled hair with his palm as he lets out a huffed, breathless laugh]

Sure. But I get to go first.

[annnnd then he's hopping up and bolting towards the slide with the rolly-bars, RACE YOU RIN]

[Dude.

Cat demon, remember?

Rin will have caught up with Akira within three leaps.]

Not if I get there first!

[purrtagonist]

[cat demon versus cat-like person!!]

[Akira doesn't even bother with more smack talk. he just launches himself at another rope ladder, and uses the momentum to practically toss himself towards the slide in an attempt to gain some ground on Rin]

[AGAIN. . . NOT COMPETITIVE. . . JUST. A SHOW OFF]

[What a show-off indeed.

Akira is definitely more graceful than Rin at this, so he can manage to get up the ladder and to the slide first. But that might be his undoing, because Rin is going to come crashing down that slide a second or two after Akira.

Try not to get squished.]

[. . . TOO LATE]

[TOTALLY GETTING SQUISHED]

[and they are crashing into the ball pit in a tangled mess of limbs again, aren't they]

[Yup.

This seems to be a pattern with them.]

[THIS IS TOO MUCH HORSEPLAY, AKIRA IS NOT USUALLY SO. . . LIKE THIS. . .]

[anyway he's gonna lie at the bottom of the ball pit now and now move, thanks]

[That's part of the territory when you're friends with Rin. He's pretty much horeseplay incarnate.

Also Rin is quick to bounce back and sit up again, laughing once more.]

You know, this has gotta be the best date I've ever been on.

[He's only ever been on like two total, so.]

[Akira experiences new things every day. . .]

[Akira sits up after Rin does, laughter dancing on his tongue as well]

It's because we're friends.

[rubs at once eye with his palm, before standing up and wading to the edge of the ball bit]

And neither of us are taking this too seriously.

How can we take this date seriously? You're dating someone else, so it's not a real date anyway?
